Fondata
nel VII secolo a.C., Selinunte, situata nella Sicilia sudoccidentale,
divenne in breve una delle città più fiorenti e
popolose della Magna Grecia. Dell'antica città greca si
conservano le Rovine dell'Acropoli e
dei Templi Dorici che, non essendo noto
a quale divinità fossero consacrati, vengono contraddistinti
con una lettera dell'alfabeto (A, C, D, E, F, G). |

The
town was founded in VII century b.C. it is placed in the South-west
of Sicily. It was one of the most flourishing and populated city
of Magna Grecia, as it is testified by the ruins of the Acropolis
and the Doric Temples. It is not known to which divinity the Temples
were dedicated, so they are famous with alphabetic letters, A, C,
