Events in San Vito Lo Capo

The area of San Vito Lo Capo, Castelluzzo and Macari is rich in events and shows to entertain tourists. Events are organised throughout the year and combine modernity and tradition, art, culture and sport.
From the feast of the patron saint to the Christmas events, from the Kite Festival to the programme of the Cultural Centre, from sports festivals to marathons, San Vito Lo Capo has been able to satisfy all its visitors over the years thanks to its lively and varied offer.
SAVING AND CARING FOR OUR PLANET: THE SICILIAMBIENTE FESTIVAL
The SiciliAmbiente initiative is a fundamental contribution to saving our planet through greater care and attention to environmental issues. The festival is a retrospective of documentaries, short films and animations on the environment, human rights and sustainability. In addition to the screenings on the waterfront, in-depth events and activities are planned with important national and international partners such as Amnesty International Italia, Greenpeace, Arci and Navarra Editore.
FLAVOURS, MUSIC, INTEGRATION: THE COUS COUS FEST

Probably the best known and most popular of the events held in San Vito Lo Capo, the Cous Cous Festival is a celebration of the meeting of different civilisations and cultures through the flavours of cous cous. In fact, many variations of the typical dish of Maghreb cuisine are proposed, which has now become a speciality of the cuisine of north-western Sicily, where a dozen countries meet in the name of integration. The event, which takes place in September, is accompanied by concerts by artists from the national and international music scene. For further information visit www.couscousfest.it
THE PLEASURE OF READING: ‘BOOKS AUTHORS AND BOUGAINVILLE
The sound of the sea as the sun sets on the horizon: the ideal setting for enjoying a good book. This is why San Vito Lo Capo has been a reference point for summer literary festivals for the past twenty years, events that fill the Italian seaside resorts with books between July and August.
In fact, since 2000, “Libri Autori e Bouganville” (Authors’ Books and Bougainvillea) has been a fixture of the town’s summer. It is a real talk show, held in the shade of an incredible bougainvillea, curated and hosted by Giacomo Pilati. It is an event where future Strega Prizes have already been presented and where important publishers regularly take part.
